Aquaprase Pendant with Vintage Venetian Glass Bead

Aquaprase is a recently discovered stone that qualifies as a new, not seen before gemstone (per Gemology Institute of America)- a new natural color of chalcedony from Africa! In 2013, it was found to be a chromium rich aqua blue form of chrysoprase!

It is not to be confused with blue chalcedony that is dyed an aqua color. It is all natural and very similar in appearance to lighter shades of gem silica and Peruvian blue opal, with a nice translucency to bright light. It is similar in nature to ajoite inclusions sometimes found in quartz crystal points.

I associate aquaprase with altruism and compassion!

The pendant measures just over 2.75 inches long, including the bail.

Unwrapped rough freeform high grade stone with beautiful translucency and inclusions measures 24 mm long, 21 mm wide and 10 mm thick; it weighs 4.7 grams or 23 carats.

Handmade in sterling silver with a sparkling Swarovski crystal and glittering vintage Venetian glass bead from Murano, Italy!

Comes with a satin cord.

My handmade original, infused with love!
